  • Rising star Jo Yi-hyun (All of Us Are Dead) may be ditching zombies for vampires in a new webtoon adaptation called Vampire Chef. If she accepts, Jo will be co-starring as the best friend of a half-vampire who helps him in his quest to re-create the taste of perfect blood. The drama is still in the planning stages and aims to start filming later this month. [Osen]
  • Sadly, we won’t be seeing Esom (Taxi Driver) join our ragtag vigilante crew in Taxi Driver’s second season. Although she did meet with the production team to discuss options, it was decided she would not return due to existing commitments and challenges with scheduling. [Newsen]
  • tvN’s upcoming omnibus drama Our Blues has been releasing teasers of each storyline, and two more videos were dropped this week. Life-long besties Lee Jung-eun (Juvenile Justice) and Uhm Jung-hwa (Witch’s Romance) are featured in the first, while the second is a peek at the romance to come for Kim Woo-bin (Uncontrollably Fond) and Han Ji-min (The Light in Your Eyes).  [Osen (1), (2)]

  • Jung Eun-ji (Work Later, Drink Now) confirmed casting in OCN’s next mystery-thriller Blind, joining Taecyeon (Vincenzo) and Ha Suk-jin (A DeadbEAT’s Meal). Premiering towards the end of 2022, PD Shin Yong-hwi (Voice 4, Tunnel) is at the helm, with scripts penned by Kwon Ki-young (Andante). [MK Sports]
  • Meanwhile, Suzy (Start-Up) is in talks to star in a new Netflix drama called The Girl Downstairs. Based on a popular webtoon, the story is about a retired K-pop idol who goes back to school and moves into a share house. PD Lee Jung-hyo (Crash Landing on You, Romance Is a Bonus Book) is attached to direct. [MK Sports]
  • TVING’s Monstrous has put out ominous new characters posters and we get our first look at the leading actors, Gu Kyo-hwan (D.P.) and Shin Hyun-bin (Reflection of You). The mystery drama is set to premiere sometime in April. [Osen]

  • Shin’s former co-star, Kim Jae-young (Reflection of You) is now in the running to join Park Min-young (Forecasting Love and Weather) in tvN’s new romance. I hope they decide on an English title soon, because it’s a bit of a mouthful in its roughly translated state, Mon-Wed-Fri-Tue-Thu-Sat. [Newsen]
  • With Kang Haneul (When the Camellia Blooms) confirmed for KBS drama Trees Dies Standing, efforts are underway to finalize the rest of the lineup. Reports have both Jung Hae-in (Snowdrop) and Yoon Yeo-jung (Minari, No Second Chances) favorably considering leading roles. [Newsen]
  • Over on MBC, a launch date has finally been confirmed for Showtime Begins!, which stars Park Hae-jin (Old School Intern) and Jin Ki-joo (Oh! Samkwang Villa). Premiering next month on April 23, more stills from the script reading were released this past week. [MBC]
