- The first script reading stills have been released for KBS’s Brain Cooperation, which stars Cha Tae-hyun (Police University), Jung Yong-hwa (Sell Your Haunted House), Kwak Sun-young (Behind Every Star), and Yeh Ji-won (Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol). Opening the new year with a January premiere, the investigative comedy has scripts by Park Kyung-sun with PD Lee Jin-seo (Revolutionary Sisters) and PD Gu Sung-joon co-directing. [News1]
- Character posters have dropped for Disney+’s upcoming Casino, featuring our casino king Choi Min-shik (In Our Prime) along with his right-hand man Lee Dong-hwi (Glitch) – as well as the police officer on their tails Sohn Seok-gu (Our Liberation Notes). Releasing next month on December 21, the crime-action is both written and directed by filmmaker Kang Yoon-sung (Long Live the King). [News1]
- After three long years, Arthdal Chronicles 2 is now on the docks to air in 2023 with Lee Jun-ki (Again My Life), Jang Dong-gun (Arthdal Chronicles), Shin Se-kyung (Run-On), and Kim Ok-bin (Dark Hole) headlining the new season — and I must say Lee Jun-ki is looking pretty glorious in the new stills. Production continues under the original writers, Kim Young-hyun and Park Sang-yeon, who are joined this time by film director Kim Kwang-shik (The Great Battle). [News1]
- In casting news, Kim Tae-ri (Twenty Five Twenty One) is considering a new webtoon-adaptation called Jung-nyun. The story is about gugak (Korean traditional music) in the 1950’s and the rise of a famous women’s performing group during that era. Coincidentally, the real-life gugak musician Honey Lee (One the Woman) is in talks for a different project – a comedy sageuk called Flower that Blooms at Night (roughly translated) which has PD Jang Tae-yoo (Lovers of the Red Sky, Hyena) attached to direct. - A new video teaser has come out for TVING’s Work Later Drink Now 2, featuring our story’s reigning liquor champions Lee Sun-bin (Work Later Drink Now), Han Sun-hwa (Work Later Drink Now), and Jung Eun-ji (Blind). While the trio remain fabulous as ever, it’s fun to see a super scruffy Choi Siwon (Love is for Suckeres) making an appearance as well. The new season will be coming to our screens on December 9. - The spirit of fun is also echoed in MBC’s newest poster for The Forbidden Marriage, which stars Kim Young-dae (Shooting Stars), Park Joo-hyun (Love All Play), and Kim Woo-seok (Military Prosecutor Doberman). In what’s shaping up to be a busy month of premieres, the sageuk romance will be premiering December 9 as well in MBC’s Friday-Saturday slot. [MBC]
- New posters have also come out for tvN’s mystery-fantasy Missing: The Other Side 2, starring Go Soo (Missing: The Other Side), Heo Jun-ho (Why Her), Lee Jung-eun (Yonder), and Ahn So-hee (Thirty-Nine). With PD Min Yeon-hong at the helm along with writers, Ban Ki-ri and Jung So-young, we can expect to watch the new second season this coming December. [Maeil Kyungje]
