D.O. chooses violence in KBS’s Bad Prosecutor

The first teaser for KBS’s upcoming drama Bad Prosecutor has dropped, and I couldn’t be happier to see D.O. (100 Days My Prince) back from his military service and back on my screen. And in a comedic role? I’m sold!
D.O. plays Jin Jung, a fiery-tempered prosecutor who refuses to let the decorum and formalities of his job get in the way of his number one goal: putting baddies in jail. Upholding justice above all else, he’s hot-headed, a tad psycho, and willing to do whatever it takes to catch the corrupt that erode society and evade punishment. As for his looks, let’s just say that unlike another crazed protagonist in an upcoming legal drama, his perm is definitely not sophisticated.
There to temper Jung’s passion is Shin Ah-ra — played by Lee Se-hee (Young Lady and Gentlemen) — a logical and composed senior prosecutor. She’s well-versed in navigating the bureaucracy of the legal field, and while her commitment to playing by the rules clashes with Jung’s violent investigation style, she has a soft spot for Jung and looks out for him.
We also have Ha Joon (Crazy Love) playing Oh Do-hwan, a passed-the-bar-exam-at-22 law prodigy whose ambition to rise the ranks will clash with our leads, and Kim Sang-ho playing Park Jae-kyung, the mysterious yet goofy head of the civil service department.
The teaser wastes no time showing us what the concept of the show will be: D.O. being an absolute craze-ball. We open with Jin Jung busting into a prosecutor’s office wielding a motorcycle helmet and wooden stick as weapons of mass destruction. He wastes no time — smashing vases, throwing papers, and spray painting the scene — while he narrates in the voiceover that, if there’s one thing he’s learned as a prosecutor, it’s that the only way to catch a bad guy is to be worse than one.
Written by Im Young-bin (Sketch) and directed by Kim Sung-ho (Move to Heaven), Bad Prosecutor will be available on Netflix and airing on Wednesday and Thursday nights on KBS, premiering on October 5.
