A bumbling but badass Jang Hyuk defends his Family

Counting down to the premiere which is now just two weeks away, tvN’s Family has released another teaser along with new stills, finally giving us our first peek at the mysterious Kim Nam-hee (Reborn Rich).

The comedy stars the darling couple Jang Nara (Sell Your Haunted House) and Jang Hyuk (Red Heart), who live in a bustling house of six, including their young daughter Shin Soo-ah.

But despite their attempts to be a perfect and happy family, there are secrets lurking in every corner with Kwon Do-hoon (Jang Hyuk) hiding his black ops job, while Kang Yura (Jang Nara) hides her strength.

Adding to the shenanigans, it looks like the family will be getting some unwelcome visitors, namely Do-hoon’s boss Chae Jung-ahn (King of Pigs) as well as the suspicious Jo Tae-gu (Kim Nam-hee).

The teaser begins with our secret agent hero, who swiftly deals with his foes while gravely declaring that he’ll take care of his family. We then cut to Kim Kang-min (The Golden Spoon) and Yoon Sang-jung (Shooting Stars) arriving home, shocked to find the place in a mess. An exasperated Yura also notes that Do-hoon still hasn’t replaced the light bulb and, on cue, the light flickers off completely.

Feeling petty, Yura leaves Do-hoon to run after her driving car and she promptly reports to Lee Soon-jae (Behind Every Star) that she abandoned his son on the roadside. Woong-soo (Lee Soon-jae) praises his daughter-in-law affectionately and Yura cutely reciprocates the love.

We then jump to Oh Chun-ryun (Chae Jung-ahn) arriving at their family home unannounced. Although Do-hoon worries that his soft-hearted wife will get hurt, Yura holds her own against Chun-ryun in a battle of tears and drinks. This then leaves Do-hoon to confront the intruding Tae-gu, asking, “What’s your motive? What are you doing to my family?”

In the intermittent text screens, we read, “A black ops husband hiding his identity and a sweet but scary wife defend their family from danger in a spy comedy.” The teaser then ends on our two leads, with Do-hoon promising that he’ll fix everything while Yura reveals a similar resolve: “I can never give up my family. Protecting my family is the most important thing to me.”
