Seolhyun, Im Shi-wan
- ENA has lined up a new drama called I Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything (previously known as Summer Strike), which is slated to air this coming November. The melodrama stars Seolhyun (The Killer’s Shopping List) and Im Shi-wan (Tracer) in what seems to be a thoughtful character piece about re-discovering life and self. Writing and directing will be helmed by both Hong Moon-pyo and Lee Yoon-jung (The Lies Within, Coffee Prince). [News1]
Chae Jong-hyeop, Seo Eun-soo, Park Sung-woong
- Announcements were also made for ENA’s upcoming Unlock the Boss, which has CEO Park Sung-woong (Snowdrop) somehow getting trapped inside a strange cellphone and subsequently found by our job-seeking hero Chae Jong-hyeop (Love All Play). Also starring Seo Eun-soo (Missing: The Other Side), the fantasy-comedy will be launching on November 30 with directing by PD Lee Chul-ha and scripts by Kim Hyung-min. [News1]
- A new poster is out for tvN’s Call My Agent and we also received news that Noh Sang-hyun (Pachinko) is joining the cast in the role of Lee Sang-wook, the head of the investigations team at the Seoul Regional Tax Office. Starring Lee Seo-jin (Dr. Park’s Clinic), Kwak Sun-young (Inspector Koo), Seo Hyun-woo (Adamas), and Joo Hyun-young (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), the comedy will be premiering November 7 in the Monday-Tuesday slot, following Mental Coach Jegal. - Preparations continue for Uncanny Counter 2 as well, which is now on tvN, and we have some interesting names on the casting table: Kang Ki-young (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) and Jin Seon-gyu (Bargain). The reports are mixed, but Yoo Joon-sang (Alchemy of Souls), Yeom Hye-ran (SF8), and Kim Se-jung (Today’s Webtoon) will likely be reprising their original roles, while Jo Byung-kyu (Stove League) is still in consideration. - Yoon Kye-sang (Kiss Sixth Sense) will be headlining a new black comedy called Day of Kidnapping (roughly translated), about an unlikely partnership between an inept kidnapper in need of money and an 11-year-old child prodigy. Based on a novel by the same title, the drama is planning for a 2023 broadcast and has PD Park Yoo-young at the helm with scripts by filmmaker Kim Je-young (Cheese in the Trap, the 2018 film). Yoon Kye-sang
- Over on MBC, Dasom (Was It Love) has been added to The Season of Kkok-du. Joining Kim Jung-hyun (Mr. Queen) and Im Soo-hyang (Doctor Lawyer), Dasom takes on the role of a fellow doctor named Tae Jung-won. With production led by PD Baek Soo-chan and PD Kim Ji-hoon, as well as writers Kang Yi-hun and Heo Joon-woo, filming for the fantasy-romance is currently in progress. [News1]
- New character posters and stills have dropped for MBC’s fantasy rom-com May I Help You, featuring the story’s main quartet: Hyeri (Moonshine), Jun (a.k.a. Lee Jun-young) (Let Me Be Your Knight), Song Deok-ho (Link: Eat, Love, Kill), and Lee Kyu-han (Sunbae, Don’t Put on that Lipstick). Premiering October 19 in the Wednesday-Thursday slot, scripts were penned by Lee Sun-hye (20th Century Boy and Girl) with PD Shim So-yeon (Welcome 2 Life0 and PD Park Sun-young at the helm.
